Camila is currently completing her Masters in Music Therapy from New York University. She also holds a BA in Music Therapy from Loyola University in New Orleans. After completing her initial training in music therapy and gaining professional experience in the field for a couple of years, Camila is thrilled to have the opportunity to complete her advanced training in music therapy to better serve, understand and support clients through the foundations of music psychotherapy.

Shanay Johnson, MA, LCAT, MT-BC

Shanay Johnson received her music therapy Master's degree from New York University. She completed her clinical training at The Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine. Shanay incorporates a combination of music therapy, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and talk therapy techniques in her therapy sessions. She uses a trauma-informed approach to a wide range of clinical issues, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and more. Shanay also has extensive experience walking patients suffering from severe and terminal medical illnesses, through the myriad of challenges of coping.

Taryn Smith, MA

Taryn is a graduate of the Masters program in Expressive Arts Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, a training program that includes curriculum and practice in marriage and family therapy. Taryn approaches therapy sessions by creating a playful, inclusive and trauma-informed space that promotes joyful, resilient and generative responses to life’s challenges. Taryn has years of experience in human services as a facilitator, teacher, program director and manager.

Aria Rivera, MPS, LCAT-lp

Aria received her Masters in Creative Arts Therapy from Pratt Institute in her hometown of Brooklyn. Aria meets her clients where they are and focuses on creating a safe and welcoming space. She is interested in the empowerment of all of her clients and is specifically interested in working with anxiety, trauma and generational trauma. Aria also holds a BFA in Photography from SUNY Purchase and worked as a professional photographer for over a decade. She was also a teaching artist in NYC public schools and runs her own photo groups for teens.

Julie Katz

Julie is in her final year of drama therapy graduate studies and is thrilled to be working at New York Creative Arts Therapists. Julie combines talk and drama therapy, as well as other creative activities like writing, visual art, and play into her sessions. Clients working with Julie can expect a gentle and accepting therapeutic approach. She helps guide them towards a greater sense of fulfillment and confidence in their lives. She found her way to drama therapy after writing and performing a solo show inspired by her experience working at a start up.

Katie MacIntyre, MA, LCAT, ATR-BC

Katie is an art therapist with nearly 20 years’ experience helping individual clients and families overcome personal and relational challenges. Her warmth and humor reveal her belief that positive change occurs through relationship. With both an undergraduate and graduate degree in art therapy (Bowling Green State University and Long Island University, respectively), Katie feels passionate about the power of creativity to help initiate fresh awareness and personal growth.

Jayne Henderson MA, LCAT, RPT

Jayne is a graduate of Lesley University’s master’s program in Expressive Arts Therapy. She is a licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) and Nationally Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Jayne’s own art practice brought her into the field of creative arts therapy. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and families in school and clinical settings. Jayne’s approach combines art and talk therapy, and utilizes several creative modalities including visual art, movement, yoga, mindfulness, music, writing, drama, and play.
