Amber Brown is in her final year of graduate studies at the College of New Rochelle for Art Therapy and Counseling. She received her Bachelor’s degree in art education from SUNY New Paltz, NY. In her personal and professional life, Amber has used art for healing, exploration and personal development. After completing her studies in art education, she chose to study art therapy to deepen her understanding of how art can be used to help others. Amber has worked with children, adolescents and adults to help them cope with a variety of challenges through art therapy. In her sessions she utilizes talk therapy, art therapy and play therapy (with children) to build on clients’ strengths and values. Amber also works as a a full-time art teacher at a public middle school in Newburgh, NY when not seeing clients as part of her graduate studies with New York Creative Arts Therapists.
