Cheryl is a licensed and board certified art therapist who has been practicing for thirteen years in New York City and abroad. Her broad range of experience gives her the tools to individualize her approach to best serve each patient in her care. She is passionate about working with children and adults to help them reach their fullest potentials using a holistic mindful approach that moves fluidly between art making, play and talk. Her experience includes working with children in a variety of settings including schools, residential treatment facilities, hospitals and summer camps. Prior to joining the New York Creative Arts Therapists team in 2014, Cheryl's worked with adults in outpatient psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains and inpatient psychiatry at Bellevue Hospital Center. Cheryl earned her masters degree from Pratt Institute and was recently selected for the Fulbright Specialist Roster. Cheryl’s expertise is in working with adults and families during difficult life transitions such as divorce, trauma, and loss. Cheryl uses a gentle, creative therapeutic approach to help her clients manage life’s challenges. She also brings an array of skills to help individuals and families with additional needs including developmental delays, physical disabilities, and early childhood mental illness.
