Drama Therapy for Teens

Drama Therapy for Teens
Starts Friday, March 17th  4:00-5:30
Meets for 7 weeks

Using drama therapy as our guide teens ages 13-16, will explore and identify goals and obstacles encountered in their daily lives. Within a structured, supportive, and creative environment, teens will use a variety of expressive arts and drama therapy tools to create stories of transition and change. Participants get to create stories and at the end of the group cycle, and invite parents or caregivers to view the work!

This group is ideal for adolescents who want to:
• gain insight into their emotions
• strengthen effective communication and social skills
• find a safe place to creatively explore stress, away from school and family.
• meet in a supportive environment
• increase problem solving and coping skills for life challenges

Group meets once a week.  Activities will focus on freeing up minds and bodies to create, play, and problem solve. Teens will be given the opportunity to establish a supportive community of peers, with which they can practice setting goals, processing emotions, and overcoming obstacles together.
