Selections will come from:

The Naked I: Monologues From Beyond The Binary by Tobias K. Davis

Within a safe, affirming and creative space, the group will read plays and scripts that explore aspects of gender and sexuality and how queer lives and issues are depicted through theatre and performance.

Queer Readings is envisioned as a community and a space to share personal connections that arise from the script reading experience. No experience with acting is necessary.

Each gathering will focus on a particular script or play, members of the group will assign themselves parts and engage in a dramatic reading of the piece, and then reflect on how they relate to and feel about the piece and themes within it. Reading selection will come from established work as well as less well-known pieces of interest. We also encourage individuals to suggest pieces to be read, as well as workshop any material of their own relating to the theme.

If you have questions or suggestions for play selections/submissions, contact: mark@nycreativetherapists.com.

Queer Readings will be held at:
Art Spa
190 North 10th St., Suite 301
