Therapeutic Scene Study for Adults

Therapeutic Scene Study
Starts Friday, March 24  •  7:00 to 8:30pm
Meets for 8 weeks.

Using Tennessee Williams’ play The Glass Menagerie, this therapeutic scene study group invites adults to explore creative problem solving, relationships, and emotional expression through drama therapy.

Each week, the group will read and act in scenes from the play, rehearse new roles and build relationships through drama. Each group participant will play different roles, as well as engage in the group process as an active audience member.

The Glass Menagerie is a five-character memory play about a family, and offers characters delicate as glass and hard as nails. Group members will be able to embody this broad range of emotion, experiencing the therapeutic benefits of theatre performance, and make personal connections to changes they want to make in their own lives.

This group is for adults who want to:
• learn to be more mindful
• reduce isolation or avoidance of interacting and connecting with others
• gain insight into their emotions and relationships
• strengthen creative problem solving and communication skills
• explore new roles and ways of being and behaving
• express themselves creatively
