Children and adolescents often communicate indirectly, messily and uniquely. Creating a space for worries to be explored and behaviors to be understood, Ailish approaches her work actively and intuitively. Working closely with children, adolescents and their families, she helps build the emotional muscle needed to cope with life’s challenges and transitions with a focus on tangible change towards a healthier way of being. In the almost 20 years of practice, Ailish has seen the importance of the therapeutic relationship and believes it is fundamental for lasting shifts in mood and behavioral patterns while enhancing meaningful connections. Incorporating her analytically informed training with her creative arts therapy background, Ailish’s range of skills are flexible and encompassing.

“Sometimes, we need to get into the mud and get messy to gain new perspective and feel the depth and dimensions within ourselves. As we become unstuck and move through this messiness, we leave our mark and have an opportunity to remold the messiness and extraordinary things may occur.”

Something that matters to me

Meaningful connections matter to me. I enjoy exploring the puzzle within ourselves and within and between the connections with others. Connecting with nature also matters to me. From a strength based perspective, I believe through enduring and reflecting upon one’s journey, an individual’s strength comes from within and is fueled by healthy relationships, creativity and play, and time spent with nature.
