Nature-Based Art Therapy

This nature-based art therapy course for professional development covers the foundations of nature-based therapy. It includes an overview of its history, benefits, and current research, as well as guidance on creating a safe, therapeutic space in nature for individuals and groups. The course also explores fostering reciprocity and relationship with the environment and offering creative interventions for clients both indoors and outdoors. This course is beneficial for those looking to incorporate nature into their therapeutic practices.

This 2 CE online event is offered by the LCAT Advocacy Coalition as a fundraiser for ongoing legislative advocacy in New York State to increase access to the creative arts therapists and to protect the rights of current clients who depend on insurance to access these therapies.

Lauren is an art therapist, outdoor guide, and wilderness first responder. She is passionate about the relationship between creativity and the natural environment, often facilitating therapy outdoors and offering natural materials in the creative process.  She has received the Calm© Ecotherapy Certification from Integrating Nature.
