Exploring Ethical Boundaries Through an Internal Family Systems Lens
This training fulfills the Appropriate Professional Boundaries requirement for NYS LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, LMSW, LCAT, and NYS Licensed Psychologists.
In this 3 hour virtual course participants will examine how internal dynamics—such as personal values, fears, and protective parts—interact with external ethical rules, professional standards, and legal requirements. Topics will include the nine core ethical principles, boundary crossings versus violations, the Ethics of Care model, and four key foundations of ethical professional behavior.
Through presentation, reflective exercises, and both large and small group discussion, participants will apply these concepts to real-world ethical dilemmas. The workshop is designed to help clinicians strengthen ethical decision-making, navigate professional boundaries with greater clarity, and cultivate a thoughtful, self-reflective approach to ethical practice.
