Lauren received her master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Hofstra University, and currently serves on the university’s Creative Arts Therapy advisory committee board. Lauren’s own creative practice and mental health advocacy brought her to the field of art therapy. Lauren has a warm presence and a dynamic approach that helps her clients better understand their own emotions through a variety of creative materials and techniques. She combines art making, talk therapy, play and humor to create an inclusive and comfortable space for self exploration. Lauren understands that every client has their own unique experiences and needs, and she meets her clients where they are at now. Her clients can expect to learn how to identify triggers, and discover coping skills to navigate their own internal and external experiences. Lauren is a NYSDEC licensed hiking and camping guide and has a particular interest in nature-based art therapy, grief work, and how themes in the outdoors can be used in a therapy session for healing and transformation. For her own personal work, Lauren finds balance though writing poetry, trail running, and creating multimedia art and art with found materials.
