Therapy with PDA Youth - 2CEs
This 2 hour online training will provide an opportunity to for clinicians to learn more deeply about how to work effectively and compassionately with youth with a PDA profile, regardless of diagnosis. Based on the presenter’s accumulated experience from working with PDA youth, therapists will learn a holistic approach to communicating with, engaging, and supporting young clients with PDA traits.
Taking influence from a variety of sources:
- Participants will be able to identify basic PDA traits/ an overview of the PDA profile
- An understanding of the PDA nervous system and what is happening underneath the surface when met with avoidance
- A framework for communicating effectively with PDA clients during session
- Ideas for directives , prompts, and accommodations that therapists can make in therapy to best support clients with PDA traits
